Key Points:

  • Announcement made at the Season 3 premiere celebration in Paris; release details TBA.

Prime Video announced that its hit coming-of-age series The Summer I Turned Pretty will wrap with a feature film. Series creator and author Jenny Han is set to write and direct the project, described as the final chapter of Belly’s journey after Season 3 positioned her at a crossroads between brothers Conrad and Jeremiah.

The film expands the franchise beyond the trilogy adaptation, with Han saying the last “big milestone” in Belly’s story merits a theatrical-scale sendoff. Stars Lola Tung and Christopher Briney helped unveil the news in Paris, posing before a billboard teasing The Summer I Turned Pretty: The Movie.

Plot and release details remain under wraps, but Prime Video executives called the series a global sensation and signalled a fan-focused finale. After three seasons of Team Conrad vs. Team Jeremiah fervour—and the cast facing intense online behavior—the film aims to deliver closure to one of streaming’s most talked-about YA romances.
