  • The project was first teased in 2023 but is now officially in development.
  • Still in early stages — no trailer or release date yet.

Netflix is expanding its Addams Family universe with a spinoff focused on Uncle Fester. Fred Armisen, who stole scenes in Wednesday, will return to play the eccentric, electric-obsessed uncle. He confirmed the project during an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, calling it “fantastic” and praising director Tim Burton.

While story details remain under wraps, fans can expect Armisen’s signature comedic twist on the beloved character. No other cast members have been confirmed yet, though Jenna Ortega’s Wednesday could make a guest appearance, along with other Addams Family favorites.

The spinoff follows the runaway success of Wednesday, which premiered in 2022, returned for a second season in 2025, and already has a third season on the way. With Uncle Fester now getting his own spotlight, Netflix is doubling down on one of its most popular franchises.
