Moana 2 Critics Are Not Impressed as it Hits Theaters

Written by Dana Nemirovsky, Journalist at Brand Vision.

Moana 2 has sailed into theaters, but not everyone’s cheering. Some call it a vibrant return, while others see it as more rerun than revelation. Empire and The Telegraph loved the movie and gave it four stars, but The Guardian wasn’t impressed, calling it “frictionless” and missing the passion of the original.

The story brings back Moana (Auli’i Cravalho) and Maui (Dwayne Johnson) for a new quest, but this time, the songs aren’t as memorable, and the emotional beats feel less fresh. Critics agree it’s fun, but not groundbreaking.

Still, with box office predictions aiming high at $135M-$145M, Moana 2 is set to be a holiday hit. The question is, will it live up to the original’s wave, or is this one already sinking? Time to grab your tickets and see for yourself.
