Jeff Bezos Blue Origin Calls off Launch
Blue Origin, the space company founded by Jeff Bezos, has abruptly canceled its maiden rocket launch after running into technical troubles this evening. According to Ariane Cornell, Blue Origin’s vice president of in-space systems, engineers were unable to quickly resolve a vehicle subsystem issue, forcing flight controllers to scrub today’s launch and begin draining the rocket’s fuel.
“We’re standing down on today’s launch attempt to troubleshoot a vehicle subsystem issue that will take us beyond our launch window. We’re reviewing opportunities for our next launch attempt.” said in a X post by Blueorigin, without specifying the exact problem engineers have been grappling with. The company has yet to announce a new launch date, indicating it first needs to assess the situation and determine what additional steps might be necessary. As of now, the timeline for Blue Origin’s next attempt remains uncertain.
