Canada's Wonderland Is Opening This Week With These New Summer Attractions.

This Friday, May 3rd, Canada's Wonderland officially kicks off the summer season and opens its gates to a record lineup of new rides, attractions, and special events. Having been one of the key amusement parks in Toronto, Canada's Wonderland has lots of people that want to take some time and come here to spend joyous hours under the sun. This year, the park is bringing back classic attractions but will also introduce fresh experiences that promise to raise the thrills and enjoyment of visitors of all ages.

New attractions this season include an all-new Moosehorn Falls water slide at Splash Works, the park's largest outdoor water park. While the main park opens this weekend, the playground inside will not be open to try out the new addition until Saturday, May 25th, providing a refreshing retreat as the temps start to climb.

Further enhancing the package of available offerings at the park is the premiering brand new Food and Wine Festival at Canada's Wonderland. From June 7 to June 23, guests will have the opportunity to taste a variety of local and international wines with sumptuous food pairings, all served with live entertainment to combine for a perfect culinary and amusement experience. Additionally, some other events that will be happening this summer include;

  • Canada Day Celebration: From June 28th to July 7th, live music every day for ten days celebrating Canada's birthday. Get a taste of authentic Canadian food and drinks at the market. Plus 2 nights of fireworks: June 30 and July 1 at 10 pm.
  • Fireworks on May 19, June 30, July 1, August 4, and September 1st.
  • September 6-8, September 13-15, and September 20-22 Oktoberfest. Enjoy authentic German food, special drink pricing, and a traditional festival band. Feast on classic sausage, schnitzel, and Bavarian pretzels.

Additional changes to the park include;

  • The prestige pass holders will have access to a new VIP lounge.
  • The Wonderland Store is under renovation/expansion.
  • New entry under Leviathan will allow guests more freedom while waiting in line.
  • The ride called “Extreme Skyflyer” has been decommissioned after many years.
  • The Backlot Cafe is currently under construction and getting prettified.
  • Viking's Rage ride goes electric.
  • Tiny Tom's is moving to a new location.

Canadas Wonderland also released their new map on Instagram posts.

While fun and food are usually the only things on the menu at the park, the day this year belongs to SickKids: July 11. This is one of the premier park events of the year, as the park gives back with an event in support of the country's pre-eminent children's hospital, SickKids Hospital. It's like going to a charity event where the added perk of attending includes early ride times, free parking, and a catered lunch.
