UnitedHealthcare CEO Killed in NYC Shooting
Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare, was fatally shot outside a hotel in New York City on Wednesday morning. The incident took place just before 7 a.m. outside the Hilton Hotel in Midtown Manhattan, where Thompson was scheduled to speak later in the day. He was rushed to the hospital but died shortly after.
The shooter, wearing a face mask and a cream jacket, fled on foot and then took an e-bike, heading toward Central Park. Police are offering a reward for any information about the suspect.
UnitedHealth Group, the company Thompson led, expressed deep sadness and canceled its planned conference. Local authorities are investigating the crime, with New York’s governor offering help to find the killer.
